Weapon and Armor Proficiency:

Wizards are proficient with all simple weapons, but not with any type of armor or shield. Armor interferes with a wizards’ movements, which can cause their spells with somatic components to fail.

Arcane Spellcasting:

Wizards can cast arcane spells from the Arcane spell list. A wizard must choose and prepare their spells ahead of time. The ability score used for calculating your saving throws is Intelligence.

At first level, a wizard knows all 0th level spells on the Arcane spell list and 3 other spells of their choice. Every odd numbered level, they choose two more spells from the Arcane spell list to know.

To prepare their spells for the day, the wizard must study from a spellbook.  A wizard may prepare and cast any spell they know, provided that they can cast spells of that level, but they must choose which spells to prepare during their daily study.

Like other spellcasters, a wizard can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day. Their base daily spell allotment is as follows:

In addition, the wizard gets a bonus spell slot of any level lower than or equal to that of their Intelligence score; they get an additional bonus spell slot of any level lower than or equal to 4 less than their Intelligence score (e.g. an Intelligence 5 wizard gets a bonus slot of levels 0-5 and another bonus slot of levels 0-1). They only get a bonus slot if they already have a slot of that level.
